Senior Cloud Engineer

SUMMARY:
Senior Cloud Engineer to be based in Sandton, Johannesburg (R700K pa, CTC).

POSITION INFO:

Our client, a leading digital transformation solutions company is seeking to URGENTLY appoint dynamic and highly competent Senior Cloud Engineer to be based in Sandton, Johannesburg (R700K pa, CTC).   

 MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

• Join a dynamic team to be afforded the opportunity to work on industry leading projects and systems.
• Be responsible for navigating all customers’ cloud computing objectives, including infrastructure deployment, maintenance, support and planning, and everything in between.
• Be responsible for implementing, supporting and configuring various Microsoft cloud-based products. These products include Office 365, SharePoint, OneDrive, and MS Teams.
• Have a passion for Microsoft solutions and remain up-to-date on the latest functionality and new features.
• Have experience working with Office 365, including a strong knowledge of supporting the technical implementation and setup.        

MINIMUM KEY COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:

• Matric Certificate / National Senior certificate.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or equivalent work experience
• Certification as a Microsoft Azure Administrator and Microsoft Azure Architect ESSENTIAL
• Solid working knowledge of on-prem Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory
• Microsoft certifications ESSENTIAL
• Exceptional interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
• Proficient knowledge of Windows operating systems
• At least 2 years of experience administering Microsoft Office 365, and gone through at least one transition from a Hosted Exchange environment to Microsoft Office 365, or any other Exchange versions a plus
• Progressive experience in a technical customer service environment
• Office 365 administration experience
• Experience with Office 365 Readiness Assessment, Onsite Discovery, and Planning
• Experience in Preparing Environment for an Office 365 Deployment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS: 

• Contribute to and support Enterprise Cloud strategy, standards and best practices associated with all aspects on cloud offerings
• Champion the adoption of Office 365 services as appropriate for our business
• Manage and monitor Office 365 services where necessary for customers
• Deploy, administer, and support Office 365 Azure and Exchange policies
• Migration of data into the Office 365 cloud platform including tenant-to-tenant migrations
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with user access to cloud services
• Monitor and communicate to stakeholders the performance of the services.
• Deliver a consistent process for incident and problem escalation along with resolution
• Assist with the creation of policies around the proper use of Office 365 services and support.
• Administer and support Office 365 and MS Exchange policies
• Using PowerShell to deploy resources and repeatable deployments with ARM templates.
• Stay current with industry trends, making recommendations as needed
• Attend training and / or courses pertaining to the delivery of the above-mentioned service areas, as agreed by Company.
• Maintain inventory of equipment and software licenses.
• Develop and maintenance Statement of Work and ad-hoc project tracking documentation.
