SUMMARY:
Gijima Staffing Solutions is recruiting on behalf of a client for an experienced Senior Corporate Secretary. This role requires a strategic and detail-oriented governance professional to support high-level governance structures and ensure full compliance with legislative and corporate frameworks.

Minimum Requirements:

Qualifications:

A legal qualification such as BCom, BCom (Law), BA (Law), B.Proc, or LLB
A CIS or equivalent qualification is required
A postgraduate degree (LLM, MBA, MBL)
Admitted Attorney status

Experience & Knowledge:

8–10 years of experience in a company secretarial or similar role
Experience at a senior operational level is advantageous
Strong understanding of the Public Finance Management Act and relevant legislation
Exposure to financial services will be beneficial

Technical & Leadership Competencies:

In-depth knowledge of corporate governance, compliance monitoring, and company law
Skilled in corporate secretarial practices and legal administrative requirements
Ability to conduct regulatory reviews and produce research-based reports
Strong written and verbal communication skills
High-level stakeholder management and leadership presence
Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
Capable of working independently and within a team
Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information

Key Responsibilities:

Advise on corporate governance matters and changes in relevant legislation
Guide committee members on their individual and collective responsibilities
Record and prepare accurate minutes for committee meetings
Manage and update statutory books and records for the company and its subsidiaries
Ensure compliance with corporate governance frameworks
Coordinate and facilitate annual evaluations for Board committees
Design and deliver training sessions tailored to governance needs
Maintain high standards in service delivery to both internal and external stakeholders
