Senior Data Analyst

A dynamic organisation in the technology and telecommunications sector is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Analyst to join their South African team. The successful candidate will operate independently, deliver highâimpact insights, and support strategic, operational, and commercial decisionâmaking across the organisation. POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities

End-to-End Analytics

Manage the complete analytics lifecycle from data extraction to insight delivery.
Clean, transform, and maintain datasets to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Develop dashboards, reports, and visualisations using leading BI tools.

Insight Generation & Decision Support

Analyse trends, patterns, and anomalies across customer behaviour, network performance, revenue metrics, and operational efficiency.
Provide actionable insights to leadership across technical, commercial, and fieldâoperations teams.
Support adâhoc queries and business intelligence initiatives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with engineering, product, sales, and network support teams.
Uphold strong data quality standards and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Commercial Analytics Focus

Experience in the following areas is highly advantageous:

Customer Metrics: churn, retention, lifecycle performance, reactivation, atârisk indicators
Revenue Metrics: MRR, ARPU, LTV, unit economics, payment behaviour patterns
Acquisition Metrics: funnel performance, lead conversion, CAC, efficiency tracking
Forecasting: budgeting, scenario modelling, longâterm planning
Network Analytics: uptime, reliability, capacity utilisation, field ticket insights
Geographic Insights: coverage vs utilisation, subscriber density patterns

Minimum Requirements

3–5 years’ experience as a Data Analyst or Senior Data Analyst
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Advanced SQL skills
Experience with BI/visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar
Strong analytical thinking, problemâsolving ability, and data storytelling capability
Experience working with large datasets and relational databases
Exposure to technology, telecommunications, or highâgrowth environments is beneficial
