Senior DevOps Engineer (Full remote available)

About our client:

Our client is a national leader in commercial building consulting with over 25 years in the industry is searching for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join their team. 

Our client is looking for someone with an in-depth understanding of DevOps tooling and processes to play a big part in their transition to DevOps. Our client are looking for a self-motivated go-getter - who's built DevOps from the ground up. Our client need someone with exposure to different automated tools and branching strategies - someone with an opinion (from first-hand experience) of why they should choose one over another. This role will be an individual contributor on a small team, focused on our clients modern platforms - Cloud (Azure) - low code or no-code platforms (configuration based). Even though you'll be an individual contributor, there are other internal resources to draw support from who is doing the same thing for different business units.

The ideal person will have been a consultant in the past working on different implementations or been with a couple of different organizations standing up DevOps. Our client need that experience to know the dos and don'ts for successful implementations! It's not the wild west at this client, they have the foundation with traditional development, testing, CI/CD is clearly in scope, as are tools for security scanning, SDLC administration, product management, portfolio management, ITSM, and more.

Looking for mastery of DevOps tooling and processes. Someone who's led team(s) through a transition to DevOps. Someone with a passion and desire to make a significant impact by leveraging your knowledge and skills, and continue to grow in the process?

Looking for someone to bring expertise in one or more DevOps suites, with an ability, willingness, and desire to broaden her or his knowledge. Our client have an ecosystem around traditional development, testing, continuous integration, and continuous delivery are clearly in scope, as are tools for SDLC administration, security scanning, portfolio management, product management, IT Services Management, and more. Many of  our clients teams have transitioned to Agile and Scrum, but many are just getting started. All the teams will need guidance and well-thought-out plans to transition to their future state. That’s where you will come in.

Qualifications:

What makes you a great fit?

• Bachelor's Degree in the field of Computer Science, Information Science, or Management Information Systems preferred
• Experience as System Analyst / Developer / Engineer on complex multi-subsystem solution delivery teams required
• Knowledge/expertise in computer programming languages required
• Effective communications skills (verbal, written, and presentation) and ability to communicate with business partners and other IT staff required
• Problem-solving skills sufficient to identify opportunities, perform research, and recommend a proposed solution to problems
• Able to work on multiple tasks and meet established deadlines
• Able to effectively influence the work of other team members without having HR management responsible for them
• Proven track record with on-boarding, training, and supporting team members. This includes but is not limited to the ability to break down complex training topics into concise, consumable chunks.
