Senior Draughtsperson / Designer (Layout Specialist)

SUMMARY:
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing plant, mining surface & underground and equipment layouts from first principles, ensuring technical accuracy, constructability, and compliance with the client and client standards.
This role requires a highly experienced layout designer with the ability to interpret engineering inputs and translate them into coordinated 3D models and drawings within allocated budgets and timelines.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Experience Minimum 8-10 years' experience as a Senior Draughtsperson in a multi discipline environment that includes material handling, sizing circuits & wet plant applications. - Experience in mining \/ EPCM \/ mineral processing environments - Proven plant layout development experience (greenfields and\/or brownfields) Key Technical Competencies The candidate must be able to interpret and integrate: - PFDs (Process Flow Diagrams) - P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams) - MELs (Mechanical Equipment Lists) The candidate must be able to develop: - 3D plant layouts from concept stage - Equipment layouts and space optimisation - Structural and piping interface coordination - Constructability-friendly designs Software Requirements Essential: - AutoCAD (3D capability) - Autodesk Advanced Steel or equivalent Advantageous: - Plant 3D or similar platforms - Drawing management systems (e.g., Vault) Key Attributes Strong spatial awareness and layout optimisation - Ability to work independently from concept to detailed design - High attention to detail - Ability to meet project schedules and budgets and take ownership of procedures to manage the deliverables through lifecycles according to workflows - Strong communication and coordination skills Deliverables & Expectations Produce accurate, coordinated 3D models and drawings - Ensure dimensional accuracy aligned with engineering intent - Adhere to drawing office standards and QA procedures - Deliver work within defined man-hour budgets Important Note We are specifically looking for candidates with strong layout design capability. Profiles limited to detailing or drafting will not be considered.
