POSITION INFO:
We are recruiting for a Senior Specialist Engineering Manager to lead and optimise the full engineering function of a large-scale production plant. The successful candidate will take ownership as the Responsible Engineer (GCC Factories), ensuring world-class reliability, uptime, and operational readiness across the facility.

🔧 Key Responsibilities:

• Full engineering leadership of a large-scale manufacturing plant, including mechanical, electrical, and utilities.
• Drive maximum plant availability, uptime, and asset care excellence.
• Lead a technical team of 50–80 skilled staff, including Engineers, Artisans, and Technicians.
• Implement preventative and predictive maintenance strategies aligned to best-practice standards.
• Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS Act) and assume accountability as the GCC Factories Responsible Engineer.
• Oversee CAPEX projects, upgrades, and long-term plant optimisation strategies.
• Report into executive leadership and provide strategic engineering insight and input at board level.
• Your OPEX budget in this role will be R30 to R60 Million Per Year

• BSc / BEng Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering – from a recognised South African University (Non-negotiable).
• GCC Factories Certificate – Registered and valid.
• Minimum 10+ years of experience in heavy manufacturing environments with at least 5 years at a senior plant leadership level.
• Proven expertise in the Paper, Pulp, Tissue, or Milling sectors.
• Strong track record of managing large technical teams (50–80+ staff).
• Excellent project management, cost control, and plant optimisation skills.
• High-level decision-making, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
