POSITION INFO:
Join a well-established South African manufacturer where finance is more than month-end reporting. This is a true 50\/50 role, combining full-function financial accounting with hands-on manufacturing costing. You'll partner closely with operations, getting into the detail of raw material costs, labour, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and factory input costs while ensuring the finance function runs smoothly from month-end through to year-end. This is a business that values people who think commercially, challenge inefficiencies, and bring practical, cost-saving solutions to the table. Key Responsibilities: Full-function financial accounting, including month-end and year-end reporting Prepare management accounts and financial reports Manufacturing costing across the factory environment Analyse raw material, labour and overhead costs Maintain and review Bills of Materials (BOMs) Monitor production costs and investigate variances Identify cost-saving opportunities and present practical recommendations Partner with production and operations teams to improve profitability Inventory and cost analysis within the manufacturing environment Ensure accurate cost allocations and product costing Supervise and mentor one direct report Work extensively on Sage 200 and Advanced Excel for reporting and analysis Assist with VAT-related matters when required (advantageous but not essential) Job Experience & Skills Required: BCom in Accounting, Finance or related qualification CIMA (in progress or completed) or completed articles 12+ years' experience in a manufacturing finance environment Strong financial accounting and manufacturing costing experience Proven experience with factory-level costing, BOMs, raw materials and labour costing Demonstrated ability to analyse costs and implement commercially beneficial solutions Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Sage 200 experience is essential Previous experience supervising at least one direct report Strong analytical mindset with excellent communication and business partnering skills Apply now!
