Senior Financial Manager

SUMMARY:
A Group’s finance team is looking for a dynamic, energetic and experienced qualified CA (SA) to lead the Group’s technical accounting function, in addition to several operational areas and strategic projects. POSITION INFO:
Lead and manage all technical accounting matters, including implementing new accounting standards Serve on the Group accounting forum, supporting oversight of accounting treatments and financial reporting across the Group and subsidiaries Oversee preparation and review of annual financial statements, ensuring IFRS compliance, accuracy, and timely delivery Manage accounting policies, disclosures, and coordination of external audit reviews Maintain financial reporting controls in line with CEO\/CFO attestation and JSE requirements Handle all share scheme accounting, including reconciliations and disclosures Prepare share scheme data for financial statements and tax calculations Maintain accuracy of share-based payment systems and related records Support calculation of diluted shares and manage accounting for share scheme trusts Support funding activities, including reviewing agreements and participating in negotiations Monitor and report on covenant compliance and funding costs to stakeholders Review related reconciliations and ensure lender reporting requirements are met Oversee import finance function, providing guidance and reviewing financial outputs Approve shipping-related payments and monitor foreign exchange exposure Ensure compliance with import VAT and duties, reporting to relevant committees Manage merchandise accounts payable, including oversight of reconciliations and transactions Supervise sundry debtors, reviewing journals, reconciliations, and tracking supplier-related loans or advances Contribute to ad hoc and strategic projects supporting overall business objectives Skills & Experience: CA(SA) Minimum Finance Manager-level experience within a similarly sized listed company, preferably in retail or a related sector At least 10+ years post-articles experience, with a proven track record in complex financial environments Strong numerical ability with solid expertise in technical accounting, financial reporting, and control frameworks Experience in credit retail is advantageous High energy, drive, and ability to perform in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills Excellent attention to detail Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines Resilient, determined, and confident in approach Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities Advanced technical accounting skills Qualification: CA(SA) Honors degree in Accounting For more information connect with us on and Register your CV to create a profile and to view all our Financial recruitment vacancies.
