Senior Legal Advisor (JB1308)

Kempton Park

R60 000 – R75 000 CTC per Month

International freight forwarding and logistics company seeks the expertise of a seasoned Corporate Legal Advisor.

Reporting to the Legal Manager, you will be responsible for various sites and operations throughout South Africa.

Requirements:

Completed LLB or similar degree

Admitted attorney

3+ years’ experience as a Legal Advisor within the Corporate sector

Knowledge and experience of compliance and POPIA

Having dealt with legal matters into Sub-Saharan Africa will be an advantage

Previous experience having worked within a Logistics entity will be an advantage

Responsibilities:

Draft; negotiate and review contracts and tenders

Highlight all important risks to Country Managers (and any other relevant parties) to make an informed decision concerning contractual risks, key provisions and contract durations through proper documented sign-off by relevant parties

Ensure safe keeping of all legal documents and maintain an accurate and comprehensive register thereof

Assist Board of Directors with company secretarial functions

Ensure all litigation matters are properly and timely reported, managed and closed out

Support the various business units with claims for cargo damage or loss

Provide sound legal advice to various business units

Ensure that the company is in full adherence/ compliance to all relevant local laws & regulations
