Senior Litigation Associate

SUMMARY:
A reputable and busy law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Litigation Associate to join their dynamic litigation team. This role is suited for a confident litigator who can independently manage matters and contribute strategically to the firm’s growth
Salary: R42 000 CTC per month

POSITION INFO:
Minimum requirements:

• LLB
• Admitted Attorney with Right of Appearance in the High Court
• Minimum 5–8 years’ post-admission litigation experience
• Proven ability to run litigation matters from inception through to court
• Strong experience working with both Senior and Junior Counsel
• Demonstrate business development capability, including bringing in new clients or generating further work from existing clients
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor junior associates
• Strong drafting, advocacy, and strategic litigation skills
• Managing litigation files independently from instruction to finalisation
• Drafting pleadings, notices, affidavits, and heads of argument
• Appearing in Court where required
• Briefing and liaising with Counsel at all levels
• Developing and maintaining client relationships
• Actively contributing to business development initiatives
• Supervising, guiding, and managing a small team of junior attorneys
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Highly organised and able to manage multiple matters simultaneously
• Proactive, solutions-driven, and able to thrive in a high-pressure environment
• Strong work ethic with a collaborative leadership style
