SUMMARY:
An established law firm in Mosselbay is seeking an experienced and driven Senior Litigation Attorney to head up their litigation department. The ideal candidate will have extensive High Court and Magistrate’s Court experience, excellent drafting skills, and a proven ability to manage complex litigation matters independently.
Also looking at applicant that are willing to relocate ASAP.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum requirements:

LLB Degree and Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.

Minimum 5–10 years’ post-admission litigation experience.
Extensive experience in High Court & Magistrate’s Court litigation.
Strong drafting, argument, and trial preparation skills.
Proven track record in handling a wide range of disputes (commercial, civil, contractual, labour, etc. depending on the firm’s focus).
Ability to generate and manage own caseload while mentoring junior staff.
Excellent client service and business development skills.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and oversee a wide range of litigation matters from inception to finalisation.
Appear in High Court and Magistrate’s Court.
Draft pleadings, motions, heads of argument, contracts, and opinions.
Conduct consultations with clients, counsel, and witnesses.
Develop litigation strategies and provide legal advice.
Handle settlement negotiations and mediation where applicable.
Mentor and guide junior attorneys and candidate attorneys.
Grow and maintain strong client relationships.
