SUMMARY:
We''re hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical system design for healthcare projects. Oversee full project lifecycles, coordinate across teams, and ensure client goals are met. Must have healthcare design experience, strong communication skills, and a detail-oriented approach.
POSITION INFO:
MUST HAVE :Bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited program, 8+ years in mechanical engineering, and experience designing healthcare building systems. Candidates must know mechanical, energy, and FGI codes, have passed the FE Exam, and be proficient in Microsoft Office, Trane Trace, and Revit. Key skills include attention to detail, organization, time management, and effective communication. Valid driver’s license, and an insured vehicle for work tasks.
NICE TO HAVE: Medical gas design experience, mentorship or quality assurance experience, a PE license, familiarity with additional engineering software, cost-efficiency expertise, and construction administration experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Design & Quality Control: Lead and execute all mechanical system calculations, layouts, and designs for assigned projects.
- Code Compliance & Best Practices: Maintain and apply current engineering codes and best practices.
- Construction Documentation: Oversee the development of construction documents for new buildings, renovations, and facility additions.
- Construction Administration: Conduct site visits, review shop drawings, and address construction-related queries.
- Cost-Efficiency Improvement: Identify and implement strategies to enhance project cost-efficiency.
- Mentorship & Quality Assurance: Mentor mechanical designers and support the director in quality assurance reviews.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Architectural or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years in the engineering field with a strong focus on mechanical systems, particularly in healthcare building systems design.
- Code Knowledge: Proficiency in mechanical, energy, and FGI codes.
- Preferred Experience: Medical gas system design (not required).
Certifications & Licenses:
- Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam (required).
- Professional Engineering (PE) license (preferred, not required).
- Valid driver’s license and access to an insured personal vehicle for work purposes.
Qualifications & Skills:

- Work Authorization: Must have permanent work authorization without sponsorship requirements.
