Senior Policy Advisor

Our client has an opportunity available for a Senior Policy Advisor based in Pretoria.

Requirements:

• A Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline.
• Valid code 08 driver’s license and your own vehicle.
• 6+ years of relevant experience of which 3+ years has been at an equivalent level within a large organization.
• Previous management experience in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Sound understanding of the Local Government Sector.
• Good track record in effectively managing complex and sensitive stakeholder engagements at all levels.

KPAs:

• Provide ongoing analysis of the key challenges to ensure that the local government strategies and programmes are appropriately implemented.
• Provide technical support and advice to the Chairs of Working Groups and facilitate the implementation of resolutions.
• Represent the company and municipalities at various IGR and other Fora to protect the interests of the sector.
• Maintain records and ensure that all project records are uploaded into the company knowledge management system.
• Track the process on the implementation of policies, legislative compliance and programmatic implementation in municipalities.
• Implement appropriate project management methodologies and disciplines and manage full project cycles on assigned projects.
• Build and maintain relevant stakeholder relationships in the area of responsibility.
• Identify potential funders and points for leverage during the programme conceptualization phase.
• Assist with the preparation of annual budgets.
• Uphold sound corporate governance principles in the daily operation of the professional discipline.
