JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our client has an opportunity available for a Senior Policy Advisor based in Pretoria.

Requirements:

A Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline.
Valid code 08 driver’s license and your own vehicle.
6+ years of relevant experience of which 3+ years has been at an equivalent level within a large organization.
Previous management experience in a multidisciplinary environment.
Sound understanding of the Local Government Sector.
Good track record in effectively managing complex and sensitive stakeholder engagements at all levels.

KPAs:

Provide ongoing analysis of the key challenges to ensure that the local government strategies and programmes are appropriately implemented.
Provide technical support and advice to the Chairs of Working Groups and facilitate the implementation of resolutions.
Represent the company and municipalities at various IGR and other Fora to protect the interests of the sector.
Maintain records and ensure that all project records are uploaded into the company knowledge management system.
Track the process on the implementation of policies, legislative compliance and programmatic implementation in municipalities.
Implement appropriate project management methodologies and disciplines and manage full project cycles on assigned projects.
Build and maintain relevant stakeholder relationships in the area of responsibility.
Identify potential funders and points for leverage during the programme conceptualization phase.
Assist with the preparation of annual budgets.
Uphold sound corporate governance principles in the daily operation of the professional discipline.
