POSITION INFO:

Senior Quality Controller required for a well-established manufacturing company within the corrugated / packaging sector. The successful candidate will oversee quality assurance processes across raw materials, production, and finished goods while ensuring strict compliance with food safety and manufacturing quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee implementation and maintenance of FSSC 22000 and ISO quality systems
• Ensure all products meet quality and customer specifications
• Conduct and supervise quality testing procedures including:
  • ECT / BCT testing
  • Moisture analysis
  • Bond strength testing
• Analyse quality trends and recurring defects
• Lead non-conformance investigations and corrective actions
• Work closely with production to reduce waste and improve quality output
• Verify printing and die-cutting accuracy
• Manage junior QC staff and training
• Ensure compliance with food safety and quality procedures

Minimum Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Quality Management, Food Technology or related field
• 5+ years’ experience within corrugated, paper, packaging or manufacturing environment
• Previous supervisory or senior QC experience essential
• Strong knowledge of:
  • FSSC 22000
  • HACCP
  • ISO quality systems
• ERP/Sage and advanced Excel experience advantageous
• Strong reporting and analytical ability

Salary:

R18,000 per month negotiable dependent on experience
