SUMMARY:
This newly created Senior Quality Engineer position offers an opportunity for an experienced engineering professional to play a key role in driving manufacturing excellence, process improvement and quality within a high-volume manufacturing environment. The role combines engineering leadership, continuous improvement, project management and quality assurance, with a strong focus on improving equipment reliability, manufacturing efficiency, product quality and operational performance.

POSITION INFO:
Qualifications & Experience: 8-10 years' engineering experience within the (automotive) manufacturing industry Proven experience in manufacturing process optimisation. Experience leading capital projects from concept through implementation. Strong knowledge of automotive quality standards and customer requirements. Experience with production equipment, automation systems and mechanical design. Demonstrated experience managing engineering teams and mentoring engineers or technicians. Bachelor's Degree (BEng\/BSc\/BTech) in Mechanical Engineering. Skills: Strong understanding of quality management systems, standards (e.g., ISO\/TS 16949, 9001 & 14001), and regulatory requirements applicable to automotive manufacturing. Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, and Statistical Process Control (SPC). Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve quality objectives and drive continuous improvement. Proficiency in relevant software applications (e.g., MS Office, statistical analysis software) and quality management systems (e.g., ERP, QMS). High Attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Preferably Lead auditor qualification and experience - IATF 16949 & VDA6.3 (Advantageous) Knowledge of Customer Specific Requirements - Primarily Stellantis, Ford, VW, Hyundai, Nissan.
