JOB SUMMARY:
Our client is urgently looking to employ a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work on a heavy Civil Engineering project situated on the Venetia Mine in Limpopo

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Tertiary Quanity Surveying Qualification (Bsc, or Btech)
10 -15 years’ experience as a Civils QS
Must have extensive experience with civil projects
Must have worked on Civil projects in a mining environment
Must be willing to go the extra mile and take ownership of his/her position
Previous experience working for one or more of the major formal sector Civil Engineering Construction companies is desirable
Must have traceable references and a stable work history

Duties

Include a full range of Commercial QS’ing functions:

- Measurement

- Valuations and Material on Site calculations

- Subcontractor rate assessing and contract negotiations

- Creating subcontractor’s letter of intent, Subcontract Agreements

- Certification, submitting and justification of payments

- Representing company in Commercial Negotiations dealing with client requirements, variation orders or compensation events as per NEC 2

- Liaising with the site Director, Contracts Manager and Site Agent during cost report submission
