Senior Procurement Specialist – Gauteng (Telecoms)

A well established telecoms organisation with a large African footprint is expanding their Procurement team and they are looking for a highly energetic and deadline driven Sourcing/Procurement Specialist (Enterprise) to join their Southern Africa Head Office in Johannesburg.

You will be responsible for helping to drive the Company forward in securing quality suppliers of enterprise services and will have a clear focus to support the Enterprise Business segment to achieve the Company’s operational objectives

Wholesale broadband / internet / cloud and security / telecoms sector experience is non negotiable. Wholesale and enterprise trading experience is also required.

Minimum requirements include but are not limited to the following:

• A degree or diploma – in Procurement, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or equivalent is essential
• CIPS preferred
• You will have good knowledge of and procurement experience within the ISP / Telecoms sector (at least 5 years) - wholesale broadband, internet, cloud and security.
• Enterprise and wholesale trading experience is a must
• Minimum of 7 - 8 years’ overall experience in Procurement
• Competency level in use of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)).
• Strong procurement background and knowledge of operational and strategic sourcing.
• Previous experience negotiating and concluding contracts with suppliers, coupled with the ability to recognise and mitigate contractual risks.
• Working knowledge of commercial laws and procurement procedure
• High competency level in use of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, as a minimum).
• Experience of working with ERP systems is essential
• Strong procurement background and knowledge of operational and strategic sourcing.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must be open to business travel (locally and regionally) on accession / as and when required
