POSITION INFO:
A well-established accounting and taxation practice is seeking a Senior Tax Consultant \/ Accountant to join its growing team. This role offers the opportunity to manage a full portfolio of clients while taking ownership of both accounting and tax functions across various entities, including companies, trusts, and sole proprietors. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, tax compliance, client advisory services, and direct liaison with SARS on behalf of clients. This position is ideal for a professional who thrives in a deadline-driven environment, enjoys client interaction, and is committed to delivering high-quality service and technical expertise. Key Responsibilities: Manage a full accounting and taxation portfolio. Perform the complete accounting function through to trial balance. Prepare monthly management accounts. Draft annual financial statements for companies, trusts, and sole proprietors using CaseWare. Prepare and submit income tax returns for individuals and companies. Prepare and submit VAT returns for sole proprietors, companies, and trusts. Provide tax and accounting advisory services to clients. Manage and attend to SARS correspondence and related matters. Submit objections, appeals, suspension of debt applications, and related SARS submissions via eFiling. Ensure compliance with relevant tax legislation and accounting standards. Build and maintain strong client relationships. Travel to client sites when required. Work effectively under pressure while managing multiple deadlines. Job Experience and Skills Required: Accounting Degree or Higher Diploma (non-negotiable). Completed Articles. Professional affiliations with SAICA, SAIPA, ACCA, CIMA, or SAIBA will be advantageous. 3-5 years' experience within an accounting firm environment. Strong knowledge of tax compliance and accounting principles. Practical experience dealing with SARS and eFiling. Proficiency in CaseWare and Pastel (essential). Experience in annual financial statement preparation. Strong client service and relationship management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple priorities. Apply now!
