Our client is a reputable professional accounting and taxation practice that provides a comprehensive range of accounting, tax, and advisory services to a diverse client base. This Senior Tax Consultant \/ Accountant role is ideal for a qualified accounting professional who enjoys managing a full portfolio of clients while taking ownership of both accounting and taxation functions. You will be responsible for financial reporting, tax compliance, client advisory services, and liaising directly with SARS on behalf of clients. Key Responsibilities: Manage a full accounting and tax portfolio. Perform the complete accounting function through to trial balance. Produce monthly management reports. Draft annual financial statements for companies, trusts, and sole proprietors using CaseWare. Prepare and submit income tax returns for individuals and companies. Prepare and submit VAT returns for sole proprietors, companies, and trusts. Provide tax and accounting advisory services to clients. Manage and attend to SARS correspondence and related matters. Submit objections, appeals, suspension of debt applications, and related submissions via eFiling. Ensure compliance with relevant tax legislation and accounting standards. Build and maintain strong client relationships. Travel to clients when required. Work efficiently under pressure while managing multiple deadlines. Job Experience and Skills Required: Accounting Degree or Higher Diploma (non-negotiable). Completed Articles. Professional affiliations with SAICA, SAIPA, ACCA, CIMA, or SAIBA will be advantageous. 3-5 years' experience within an accounting firm environment. Strong knowledge of tax compliance and accounting principles. Practical experience with SARS eFiling. Proficiency in CaseWare and Pastel (essential). Strong financial statement preparation experience. Excellent communication and client relationship management skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
