Senior Technician

SUMMARY:

Oversee the Mechanical and Electronic department and ensure that highest service levels are maintained

POSITION INFO:
Ensure that on a day to day basis, service levels are maintained in line with set out company standards.

1. Ensure that the mechanical repair board is updated – assigning repairs on priority
2. Ensure that highlighted technical issues brought up in the daily MBU meeting are attended
3. Ensure that technical issues experienced in the branch are tabled at the technical forum meeting held weekly- giving feedback on technical issues experienced in the branch.
4. Ensure that discussed solutions to problems, and updates are relayed to branch team
5. Assist with day to day and difficult technical
6. Ensure that team members are fully trained, and kept informed of product
7. Manage optimal relationships with the client base, ensuring that the needs of the client come
8. Maintain Warranty replace levels and assist staff with the authorisation of warranty
9. Monitor the usage and replacement of workshop
10. Attend to sites where required and provide field support to
11. Complete site visit report sheets, and ensure that all relevant documentation is
12. Ensure that the technical department maintains acceptable organisation and cleanliness in work
13. Maintain the highest level of Occupational Health and Safety standards

1. Fulfil the branch’s external training schedule and ensure that all training materials are up to
2. Assist with training for both internal and external customer events or sessions.
3. Stores
4. Assist with forecasting and maintaining the right bin
5. Help with product identification in the branch’s stores, and ensure that right product is in the right
6. Assist with training the store personal on product identification and product updates and

1. Assist with ad-hoc duties from time to time, such as product launches, training and internal
2. Oversee internal product
3. Assist with the day to day operations of the branch in the absence of the branch manager

• Minimum of Occupational Certificate / Diploma Electrical Engineering Technician
• (QCTO) – NQF Level 6 or N6 combined with 4 to 5 years practical experience
• A strong knowledge and understanding of electronics and the ability to test, fault find and repair equipment to circuit board level
• Must have extensive knowledge and experience in electronic control circuits and mechanical workings as well as repair of motors.
• On-site experience would be an advantage.
• Valid Driver’s License essential.
