JOB SUMMARY:
Shipping Assistant Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Ensure that the relevant shipping coordinators request shipping documents timeously
• Prepare shipping /clearing instructions and invoice split per packing list, with correct packs and SKU’s to Clearing Agent (C/agent) and forward copy of documents to Buyer
• To liaise with the relevant Clearing Agents on shipping dates, estimated time of arrivals (ETA’s), estimated time of delivery (ETD’s), Vessels etc.
• Register Shipment on AX with correct SOB exchange rate
• Track and trace vessel status and ETA
• Liaise with C/agent and transport company for charges and delivery of containers
• Liaising with Buyer and Planner to ensure P/O is correct before preparing of the delivery receipt
• Ensure that the correct B/entry, Line No & Container No is used on the delivery
• Prepare Final costings
• Communicate with import/export and related authorities and suppliers
• Stock Adjustment on all brands
• Establish LC with bank
• Assist Shipping manager in day-to-day functions
• Gain insight on Forex, Fec''s, Foreign Payments and costing''s
• To make sure the suppliers deliver on time and inform relevant departments of any delays being supplier or Port
• To advise relevant departments after loading the stock so they can prepare there runs
• Maintain and share knowledge of all relevant procedures’ tariffs and duties, licenses, and restrictions
• Supervise staff on a day to day to ensure all runs smoothly
• To correctly file documents
• To file all relevant documents needed as future reference.
• Ensuring staff comply
