SUMMARY:
Our client, a well-established organisation operating within a hands-on and operationally focused environment, is seeking an experienced Site Accountant to join their team based in Johannesburg South. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys being close to the operations and taking ownership of the full finance function within a site-based environment.

If you are a hands-on Accountant with strong technical accounting experience and the ability to work independently, this role offers the opportunity to take ownership of the financial function while partnering closely with operational teams. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, accountability, and strong administration are essential.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities: - Manage the full finance function for the site. - Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports. - Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. - Perform bank, balance sheet, and general ledger reconciliations. - Manage month-end and year-end financial processes. - Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. - Monitor cash flow and ensure accurate financial administration. - Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and accounting standards. - Provide financial support and insights to the operational team. - Assist with general finance administration and site-related administrative duties. - Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding financial queries. Qualifications & Experience: - BCom Accounting, Finance, or a related financial qualification is essential. - Completed articles will be highly advantageous. - Minimum 5 years' relevant accounting experience required. - Proven experience managing a full finance function. - Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end processes. - Strong administrative and organisational skills. - Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability. - Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities. - Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
