Specialist: Data Visualisation (CH827)

Our client in the banking industry is looking for a Specialist Data Visualisation in their Data Transformation department. The purpose of the role is to contribute subject matter expertise to enhance the data visualisation quality and capability, in line with the data transformation programme for the company:

• Provide specialist insights towards maintaining the data visualisation operating model (with a focus on AWS and Power BI), in line with governance, risk, architecture, budget, and licencing requirements.
• Act as subject matter expert for the Front-End Engineering (Data Visualisation) community of practice (CoP) members.
• Apply knowledge on emerging trends and best practice to facilitate the development of Data Visualisation Insights, standards, and practice within the bank’s community, and to support the business with the required data visualisation skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

• A relevant 3-year tertiary qualification (degree / diploma) in statistics, finance, actuarial science, mathematics, computer science, information systems, data or mathematical sciences, or engineering
• Certification in Data Visualisation technologies

Ideal

• Power BI advanced user
• AWS certified Solutions Architect
• AWS certified Data Analytics

Knowledge

• Extensive knowledge of reporting and visualisation tools (particularly Power BI)
• In depth knowledge of Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Warehousing best practices
• In depth knowledge of BI environments, solutions, and implementations (end-to-end BI architecture and technologies)
• BI development (reports, dashboards, data visualisation, etc.)
• Knowledge of both waterfall and agile development approaches
• A good understanding of design and user experience principles

Experience

Required:

• At least 4 years’ experience implementing BI and Data Visualisation solutions and supporting architecture
• Applying BI best practice
• SQL Query writing
• Product development life cycle

Ideal:

• 4+ years’ experience implementing BI and Data Visualisation solutions and supporting architecture
• Analysis/report development in a financial/banking environment
• Power BI experience
• Experience with Power Query Editor / Power Automate / Power Apps
