Specialist, New Products Controller

To ensure that all the necessary governance and risk assessments associated with the introduction of New and Amended Products and Services, are identified and addressed prior to execution for CIB (all BU’s) cross all geographies (South Africa and Africa Regions)

Upholding governance with effective decision making and policy application
1. Supports line manager in driving and implementing the governance standard across all geographies (South Africa and Africa Regions) and all product lines, ensuring consistent application of standards.
2. Ensures the governance standard and NPC processes are embedded across business units and is able to effectively interpret the policy, providing guidance on its application to stakeholders.

Maintaining a strong control environment
1. Upfront intelligent challenge of the governance application information received from business and support functions, identifying gaps, in order to ensure accuracy and completeness. Requests information that has not been provided to ensure governance papers provide the requisite level of product and risk information for stakeholders to ascertain the impact of the new/amended product or service on their areas.
2. Effectively support the stakeholder requirements process and formal product sign-off ensuring tarnsparency and clarity of governance status for alignement of all participants in the governance process.

Ensures efficient and effective stakeholder management and relations
1. Maintain clear communication channels with all stakeholders and business as well as the line manager to align expectations in terms of timelines and ensure full awareness at all times.
2. Proactively develop and manage relationships with the various key internal stakeholders and external stakeholders

Driving process efficiencies and prioritisation
1. Influence change by proactively driving continuous improvements to the NPC governance process and the operating environment.
2. Drive prioritisation of products and service governance applications and post implementation reviews and adhoc investigations by highlighting urgent issues to the line manager and enforcing solutions.

Provides useful management information & reporting
1. Preparation of management information (MI) that provides concise and relevant feedback regarding governance processes and the approval process to key stakeholders and business.
2. Assists line manager in reviewing MI reports ensuring key information is highlighted, including challenges experienced. Product completion status to be provided with any identifiable trends.
