Stock Accountant

SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking a Stock Accountant within the FMCG fats and oils manufacturing sector, based in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for detailed costing, inventory control, stock reconciliations, cost analysis, and management reporting to support operational efficiency and profitability.

POSITION INFO:
Introduction Reports to: Group Cost and Management Accountant Based in Johannesburg Fats and oils manufacturing industry. Job Summary: • Enable the organization to perform detailed cost tracking to determine the true product cost. • Assist functional managers to reduce costs in their functional areas. • Management analysis and reporting. • Utilise and enhance the capability of the ERP system (Pastel Evolution). • Identify inefficiencies and implement automation to business areas. • People development within the organisation. • Assist with the GOCM annual budget preparation POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Enable the organization to perform detailed cost tracking to determine the true product cost. Detailed Costing: • Bill of Materials (BOM) - Standard oil ratio, Yield, standard losses. • Daily GOCM Reports • Oil \/ Raw Material \/ Packaging Material Cost Calculation • Finished Goods cost calculation • By Product & Co Product Costing • Resource Cost - Allocation of FFOH & Utilities • Standard Costing 2. Stock Control • Daily ASO and APP stock on hand reconciliation. • Intercompany Invoicing, bulk GRV's and adjustments on Sage. • Site assistance with stock related queries for ASO and APP. • Tracking and reconciliation of damaged stock movement. • Provide guidance & support to stock controller & extended SC Team. • Reconcile intakes (GRVs), dispatches (customer invoices). • Process all production runs on Sage and processing of intercompany charge-outs, as well as receipts. • Obtain and create sales orders (GOCM) and purchase orders (ASO) for oil contracts. • Analysis of FG Recon (Physical\/WH vs Sage). • Weekly warehouse walkthroughs. • Process stock adjustments, and inventory corrections on Sage. 3. Stock count attendance and month end close • Attendance at month end stock counts. • Co-ordinate and oversee monthly stock count as verification. • Snapshots, for monthly stock counts, month end variance reports, and investigation of variances. • Variance analysis for month end counts. • Post snapshot & compile variance report & send to sites for investigation. • Provide reasons for all stock variances as best as possible. • Process correction journals & recount journals. • Pass Final qty check on qty on hand. 4. Schedules • Monthly Stock Valuation Report • Plant PNL • GP analysis • Ad hoc stock reports 5. Desired Experience & Qualification Qualifications • Bachelor''s degree in accounting or related field. • 2 years of cost accounting work experience. • Sound understanding of accounting principles. • Solid cost systems background. • Meticulous attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
