JOB SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking a Store Management Specialist with 8 years’ plus experience in supply chain and inventory or store keeping control of which 3 years must be in a Mine or Smelter Stores.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position: Store Management Specialist
Location: Witbank, Mpumalanga
Salary: Market Related

EDUCATION:

Grade 12.
3 years Degree/ Diploma in Supply chain Management.
Sage Evolution.

EXPERIENCE:

8 years’ plus experience in supply chain and inventory or store keeping control of which 3 years must be in a Mine or Smelter Stores.
5 years’ plus experience in a supervisory / management role in stores.
Supervisory experience.
Inventory and stores management experience.
Knowledge & experience of the occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work.
Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
Advanced knowledge and experience of store management methods, practices, and procedures for receiving, storing, and issuing materials and supplies, inventory and control methods, practices, and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinating and supervising receiving and stores procedures.
Approves requisitions to order supplies, materials, and equipment from contracted vendors to maintain pre-determined minimum and maximum stock levels.
Planning and overseeing the conduct of physical inventories of stock items and property and reconciles with inventory records.
Planning the stores layout and assign work according to volume, assignment, and individual skills and abilities.
Oversees the maintenance of manual and computerized inventory records to track physical property, stock levels, and usage of consumable items.
Reviews reports of missing physical property and prepares appropriate paperwork to document reduction of Company’s inventory.
Attending meetings with vendors and suppliers.
Monitoring usage rate of supplies to identify opportunities to control expenditures.
Overseeing the salvage or disposal of obsolete and defective equipment and supplies.
Set priorities, resolve problems, and make decisions within general policy guidelines.
Overseeing distribution of supplies.
Controlling inventory levels and ensure availability of material during emergencies.
Developing effective policies and procedures for storekeeping operations.
Implementing and ensuring appropriate storekeeping procedures are followed in the stocking of shelves, filling of supply orders and issuance of stock.
Supervises staff engaged in the receipt, storage, inventorying and issuance of supplies, materials, and equipment.
Supervises staff engaged in receiving and inspecting ordered stock against invoices and receiving reports to ensure the accuracy of deliveries.
Supervising, evaluating and coaching subordinates and implement discipline when necessary.
Overseeing staff responsible for contacting vendors to resolve problems regarding received items that are damaged or incomplete and to obtain delivery information on supplies and equipment ordered.
Training subordinate personnel in inventory control and stores procedures.
