Substation Engineer

SUMMARY:
An exciting opportunity exists for a skilled and motivated Substation Engineer to join a dynamic engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, specification, and delivery of substation projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and review substation designs, layouts, and technical specifications.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project integration.
• Conduct technical assessments and provide solutions for engineering challenges.
• Prepare design documentation, drawings, and reports.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Support project management in planning, budgeting, and scheduling activities.

• BEng Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 3–8 years’ experience in substation design (distribution and/or transmission level).
• Strong knowledge of relevant standards and codes (IEC, SANS, etc.).
• Proficiency in design software and CAD packages.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
