Supply Chain Manager

SUMMARY:
Overall Responsibility:
Responsible for coordinating various aspects of the supply chain to ensure efficient, compliant production of high-quality medical pharmaceutical products. This role manages a team within the supply chain process and may need to perform essential tasks in each area to ensure seamless production. This role is essential to maintaining the company's commitment to producing GMP-compliant medical pharmaceutical products, and the Supply Chain Manager / Coordinator will be instrumental in supporting production efficiency and cost management.

Main responsibilities of Focus Area 1:

• Source raw materials and inventory, negotiate quotes and services, and manage purchasing processes.
• Ensure materials are available when needed, maintain continuity in production, and manage costs. 
• Manage supplier contracts, monitor supplier performance, and resolve quality issues with received goods. 
• Ensure accurate use of financial software (e.g., Xero) and maintain procurement visibility. 
• Source secondary suppliers, manage supplier risk, and conduct regular performance reviews. 
• Develop relationships, understand lead times, and resolve issues related to shipping or customs. 
• Maintain optimal inventory levels, avoid overstocking or stockouts, and implement efficient storage strategies. 
• Conduct regular audits and forecast demand to inform procurement planning. 
• Oversee warehouse operations to ensure efficient handling, storage, and order fulfillment. 
• Implement safety and security protocols, enforce inventory management systems, and lead warehouse staff.
• Supervise and mentor warehouse and procurement staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster a collaborative environment. 
• Report on supply chain metrics to senior management. 
• Foster effective communication and collaboration with Production, Quality Assurance, and Quality Control to align on supply chain requirements.

• Assist with optimising or implementing ERP or inventory management software for efficient supply chain integration.

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field. 
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in supply chain management, preferably in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical manufacturing sectors. 
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Xero) and inventory management software. 
• Familiarity with GMP standards and relevant regulatory requirements in pharmaceutical or medical product supply chains

• Organisational Skills: Strong ability to manage multiple aspects of the supply chain, prioritise tasks, and ensure timely procurement, warehousing, and distribution. 
• Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse data, forecast demand, and identify cost-saving opportunities. 
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication to facilitate collaboration across departments. 
• Problem-solving: Proactive in identifying supply chain bottlenecks and implementing solutions. 
• Negotiation Skills: Competence in negotiating with suppliers to secure favourable terms and resolve issues efficiently. 
• Team Leadership: Capability to manage, develop, and motivate a team to achieve operational goals
