Supply Chain Manager

SUMMARY:
Our client, a large manufacturing company, currently seeks a Supply Chain Manager to lead the planning, prioritising and co-ordinating supply chain activities, driving continuous improvement towards cost and service goals, and providing functional leadership and coaching to the Logistics and Planning team.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree: Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, Commerce/Business Management or Logistics specialisation.
• Post Graduate qualification in Supply Chain Management, Lean or Six Sigma is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of Supply Chain or Operations Management experience with significant exposure to Transportation and warehousing operations; of which, 3 or more in a supervisory capacity.
• Experience in management consulting or in a commercial/strategy role a strong advantage.

Key Performance Areas:

• Oversee day-to-day logistics and supply chain operations, leading the Logistics and Planning team.
• Establish performance metrics for measurement, comparison, and evaluation of factors affecting performance.
• Meet financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing annual budgets, tracking spending, analysing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
• Lead Supplier Relationship Management for Logistics Service Providers: develop and implement SOPs and SLAs, conduct regular performance reviews and facilitate joint planning and value creation activities.
• Input and lead the implementation of the company''s Supply Chain Strategy.
• Drive continuous improvement of supply chain systems, processes and operations on cost and service levels.
• Build people capability through effective employee relations, hiring, training, and direction setting.
• Assume Project Management responsibilities for key supply chain projects and initiatives.
• Lead the S&OP process.
• Own Inventory Management Strategy and Targets.
• IMS Champion: enable the development of SOPs, lead implementation and drive compliance.

The incumbent will need to travel nationally to other sites in RSA as business needs dictate.
