SUMMARY:

An established manufacturer of specialised agrochemicals requires the above to manage and analyse the demand & business inventory plan for the AME region by leading the Sales & Operations Demand Planning (S&OP) process for AME from a functional perspective and Southern Africa region from a functional and executional perspective.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Must have a degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing or similar
  • Minimum of 7 – 10 years of increasing leadership responsibility in supply chain management role/s, ideally in a manufacturing environment, will be required
  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience in a Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) leadership role is essential
  • APICS or CIPS and SAP certification is important                                         
  • Must have a good understanding of Advanced Supply chain systems, including APO-DP, APO-SNP, and a working knowledge of SAP (R/3) or similar ERP platform
  • A solid background in leading edge manufacturing and materials management processes, including an understanding of MRP logic will be beneficial
  • Must have practical experience using Supply Chain Planning systems (Logility, JDA, Manugistics or similar)                                                                                           
 The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Validating the process of demand plans in APO-DP, including price and volume for financial commitments in monthly cycles.
  • Setting inventory parameters based on portfolio product categories impacting inventory investment.
  • Driving inventory ageing actions with Stakeholders to manage company inventory assets.
  • Managing a business inventory value of $40m and safety stocks based on demand plans and statistical recommendations.
  • Processing auto-align future price proposals with future COGS in demand planning tools ensuring aligned financial forecasts $265-$300m.
  • Reviewing portfolio for profitability and process for product life cycle management.
  • Working closely with the SC Finance Manager to create visibility of actions/changes needed to maintain portfolio profitability.
  • Setting customer target service levels by customer/product profit group and aligning safety stock parameters in ERP.
  • Setting up a process for optimal customer order execution, including KPI metrics and tracking thereof - OTIF against target service levels.
  • Tracking first commits and progress against communication to customers.
  • Measuring customer order creation against demand plan and pro-actively communicating misalignments.
  • Communicating constraint demand plan to markets and managing overall DCR process where needed.
  • Conducting sales forecast (volume and price), collecting, capturing, analysing information, and reporting of variances to plan working with commercial and marketing stakeholders in monthly processes.
  • Managing and controlling the creation of new products into the supply chain as initial gatekeeper, ensuring product readiness before launch.
  • Providing budgeting support for SCM department, collection LRP, and 24 month forecasts and validation of default invoicing and supply plants.
  • Translating forecast data into collection tools, including aggregation and disaggregation to customer/SAP plant and country level.
  • Functioning as APO-DP super user and managing unconstrained and constrained forecasts to ensure MD for each profit centre is correct and up to date.
  • Facilitating product profitability checks to achieve business targets and flagging products of concern and subsequent life cycle management actions that may result.
  • Training and coaching sub-regional and country stakeholders in demand planning processes and using tools to capture and evaluate performances.
  • Ensuring the standard demand review process is implemented to add value in each sub-region.
  • Reviewing and improving DRP planning and inventory allocation methods used in areas where business model requires it.
  • Managing the demand change process, setting a process to manage forecast to several supply SKU to upload into SNP.
  • Performing master data management in ERP and APO-DP, ensuring all products sold have valid data in forecasting tools and that MD team update accordingly.
  • Using insights gained from customers and markets to identify and implement supply chain improvement actions.
  • Implementing and monitoring execution of agreed objectives of team as aligned with sub-regional and functional expectations in areas of responsibility.
  • Driving the implementation of key assigned projects, as either project leader or significant contributor.
  • Aligning AME regional process with global community standards, contributing to the common process evolution and standardization.

Salary package is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
