Tax Accountant

SUMMARY:
Our engineering client has a vacancy for a Tax Accountant to assist with year-end on a 3-month contract.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements

• Minimum of a Bachelors of Commerce Degree (Honours will be highly advantageous)
• A degree in taxation or Higher Diploma in Tax preferable (Honours, and Master’s ideal)
• Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience as a Tax Accountant, or Senior Tax Accountant
• Technically strong with solid knowledge and experience in SA and Africa
• Experience working with Middle Eastern countries beneficial

• Deliver a full range of corporate tax services in compliance with laws and regulations within timeframe
• Act as the key point of contact and support for local taxation matters
• Preparation of Provisional and Income Tax returns of South Africa, Africa and Middle Eastern entities
• Oversight and coordination of tax compliance/advice for international subsidiaries and branches from third party service providers
• Preparation of monthly income tax and deferred tax computations
• Preparation and submission of dividend tax returns
• Preparation and submission of VAT and WHT returns
• Preparation and submission of IT14SD returns
• Providing advice to the business in relation to domestic and international tax issues
• Providing advice to the Payroll & People departments such as rudimentary domestic payroll tax and expat tax issues
• Contributing to the successful delivery of tax solutions for the business (especially as part of financial review process) by assisting in tax planning opportunities and mitigation of tax risk
• Responsible for following up on financial proceedings, and ensuring tasks are completed on schedule relating to relevant accounts.
