Tax Compliance Officer

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full tax compliance function for a portfolio of medium-sized companies and clients across various industries. The role requires a strong understanding of South African tax legislation, SARS processes, and excellent client relationship skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the full tax compliance function for a portfolio of medium-sized companies and clients across various industries. The role requires a strong understanding of South African tax legislation, SARS processes, and excellent client relationship skills. Minimum Requirements Relevant tertiary qualification in Taxation, Accounting, Finance, or similar Minimum 4 years’ proven tax compliance experience within an accounting or professional services environment Experience handling multiple medium-sized company portfolios simultaneously Solid working knowledge of SARS eFiling and South African tax legislation Experience with: VAT PAYE Income Tax (Individuals and Companies) Provisional Tax EMP submissions Dividends Tax Proficient in: Greatsoft CaseWare Pastel Accounting Microsoft Excel Strong administrative and organisational abilities Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively Must reside in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town Key Responsibilities Managing the full tax compliance process for a portfolio of clients Preparing and submitting: VAT201 returns EMP201 submissions EMP501 reconciliations Provisional tax returns Individual and company income tax returns Capturing and reviewing accounting information on Pastel Accounting Utilizing Greatsoft for workflow management, tax administration, and client communication Assisting with financial statements and supporting schedules on CaseWare where required Monitoring SARS deadlines and ensuring timeous submissions Liaising directly with SARS regarding client queries, objections, verifications, and audits Maintaining accurate tax records and supporting documentation Assisting clients with tax-related queries and compliance matters Conducting tax calculations and reconciliations Ensuring compliance with current South African tax legislation and regulations Assisting with tax clearances and SARS registrations where required Building and maintaining professional client relationships Personal Attributes Professional and client-service driven Strong communication skills Deadline-oriented and able to work under pressure Highly organised and methodical Reliable and trustworthy Team player with a proactive attitude
