Tax Consultant \/ Accountant Location: Bedfordview, Johannesburg Position Type: Permanent | Full-Time Salary: Market-Related Industry: Accounting | Tax | Healthcare Professionals About the Opportunity Medical Resources Group is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Senior Tax Consultant \/ Accountant to join their growing Tax division. Our client's Tax division services over 800 medical professionals throughout South Africa, providing comprehensive accounting and tax services ranging from payroll and balance sheets to tax returns, SARS correspondence, objections, and more. This opportunity is ideally suited to a Tax Consultant \/ Accountant with experience working specifically with healthcare professionals, who understands the unique accounting and tax requirements of medical practitioners and related healthcare businesses. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years' experience in an accounting environment, strong technical accounting and tax knowledge, and the ability to independently manage a portfolio of clients. Key Responsibilities Manage the full accounting and tax function for an allocated portfolio of healthcare professional clients. Prepare monthly management reports. Perform the full accounting function through to trial balance. Draft annual financial statements for companies, trusts, and sole proprietors using CaseWare. Prepare and submit income tax returns for individuals and companies. Prepare and submit VAT returns for sole proprietors, companies, and trusts. Attend to SARS correspondence and client tax queries. Submit notices of objection and suspension of debt applications via eFiling. Provide professional tax and accounting advice to healthcare professionals. Assist clients with tax planning and compliance requirements. Ensure accurate and timely completion of all work. Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients. Travel to clients when required. Minimum Requirements Accounting Degree or Higher Diploma – Non-negotiable. Completed Articles. 3–5 years' experience in an accounting environment. Experience working with healthcare professionals \/ medical practitioners is highly advantageous. Strong working knowledge of CaseWare and Pastel – imperative. Practical experience with eFiling. Experience with SARS correspondence and tax submissions. Own vehicle. Valid driver's licence – non-negotiable Advantageous Affiliation with SAICA, SAIPA, ACC, CIMA, or SAIBA will be advantageous.   Key Competencies The ideal candidate will be: Experienced in accounting and taxation for healthcare professionals.
