POSITION INFO:
The Opportunity:
A top-tier player in the energy infrastructure space is looking for a Tax Manager to lead all things tax across their South African operations. From advising on M&A to steering tax compliance across multiple entities, this is a strategic, highly visible role with touch-points across finance, business development, and global tax teams.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Partnering with BD and M&A teams to advise on tax structuring for new investments and divestments
Identifying tax risks and opportunities tied to new projects, including impact of local reforms
Monitoring group and local capital structures (equity and debt) for tax efficiency
Leading all tax compliance processes across VAT, PAYE, UIF, SDL, corporate tax, provisional tax, and dividends tax
Overseeing timely and accurate filings, payments, transfer pricing, audits, and tax returns
Coordinating VAT recoveries with SARS and managing end-to-end audit/litigation matters
Providing in-depth reporting and forecasting of effective tax rate, P&L impacts, and cash tax positions
Acting as the go-to liaison between local operations and group tax
Managing external tax advisor relationships and spend—keeping advice tight and budgets under control
Driving governance through internal controls, policies, and documentation that stand up to scrutiny

What You Bring:

A tax qualification or CA(SA) with strong tax experience
7+ years in tax advisory or in-house tax management
Strong technical grounding across South African tax types (VAT, income tax, etc.)
Experience with project finance or multinational structures is a bonus
