SUMMARY:
Our client, a well-established and highly respected Accounting, Auditing and Advisory practice based in Walmer, Port Elizabeth, is seeking to appoint an experienced and commercially astute Tax Manager to join their growing team.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements: BCom Accounting, BCom Taxation or equivalent (Postgraduate Tax qualification advantageous). Registered Tax Practitioner (SAIT) preferred. CA(SA) advantageous but not essential. 5-8 years' taxation experience within an accounting or auditing practice. Previous experience managing a tax portfolio and dealing directly with SARS. Experience supervising or mentoring staff. Strong knowledge of South African tax legislation and SARS processes. Proficient in SARS eFiling, CaseWare, Pastel and Microsoft Office 365 (especially Excel). Key Responsibilities: Manage a portfolio of corporate, trust, individual and partnership tax clients. Review and submit income tax, provisional tax, EMP201, EMP501,VAT, PAYE and other statutory returns. Provide strategic tax planning and advisory services across corporate tax, CGT, VAT, dividend tax, estate planning, restructures and international tax. Liaise directly with SARS, managing audits, verifications, objections, appeals and dispute resolution. Build and maintain strong client relationships while providing proactive tax advice. Mentor and manage junior tax consultants, ensuring high-quality service delivery and compliance. Keep abreast of Income Tax Act, VAT Act, Tax Administration Act, Companies Act, Trust legislation, relevant SARS practice notes and interpretation notes.
