Team Leader – Packing

My client, a leader in the FMCG industry is looking to employ a Team Leader for their Packing division. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, not be afraid to enforce discipline, be self-driven and have experience within an operational role within the FMCG industry.

Education:

• Matric

Skills/Experience required:

• At least 4 years’ experience within a similar role
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lead a team effectively
• Good organisational skill required
• The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Job Description:

• Plan and co-ordinate daily/weekly packing schedules.
• Along with Manager, manage day to day operations and assist in all areas in packing.
• Record daily, weekly and monthly Service Levels and document line efficiencies.
• Facilitate the Production Manager in the effective implementation of identified continuous improvement initiatives within the process.
• Delegate tasks to packing team in order to meet daily/weekly targets
• Recognise training needs and report to Production Manager.
• When possible, train new employees (and current employees) on best practice ways of working.
• Be point of contact for your area for both employees and Production Manager.
• Maintain constant adherence to all company, customer and legal requirements regarding Food safety and Quality assurance.
• Ensure that the highest levels of Service, Quality and Workmanship are maintained.
• Assist the Production Manager in driving adherence to all HACCP
• Assist Production Manager in driving a culture of excellent adherence to Health & Safety of all employees through the maintenance of a safe working environment.
• Manage packing: documentation, storage, timely delivery of goods; document recording and weighting of finished stock.
• Oversee management of machines to protect against damage, theft, losses etc.
• Plan and monitor the packing machines(PFM,Box Former,Robot,Box sealer)
