Team Leader

SUMMARY:
Our client in Olifantsfontein is looking for a qualified and experienced Team Leader to ensure that critical quality characteristics are met within the aluminium manufacturing industry.  A relevant engineering qualification, valid matric and a minimum of 3 years experience in the aluminium industry will be given preference.

• Managing the day-to-day planning, implementation and problem solving to ensure your team achieves daily goals in production.
• The critical quality characteristics are specified on lot tickets and die drawings.
• Review the lot tickets and check die drawings for the purpose of identifying the critical quality characteristics.
• Understand the critical quality characteristics for each customer/die.
• Decide on what instruments are needed, including gauges.
• Ensure that run roller, lift-off arms, Thermatex on cooling table etc. are in good condition.
• Inspect the extrusion front ends for shape and surface during breakthrough and cut samples on all dies.
• Cut the sample piece on the second billet and thereafter on every 5th billet.
• Check surface quality and dimensions as specified on the drawing.
• Check flatness before and after quench to determine if it’s a die problem or quench problem.
• Check all dimensions, pay special attention to important dimensions, use data book, and take note of special tolerances on die drawings.
• Verify exit temperature by rubbing sections with tempil sticks.
