Our client in the engineering industry is urgently looking for an experienced technical buyer to join their organization

Location: Alrode, Alberton

Requirements:

Matric (with accounting and mathematics)
5 years experience in a related procurement environment
Sage experience (advantageous)

Responsibilities:

Place orders on suppliers on time and accurately
Ensure limits and limits of authority are followed for all purchases
Ensure vendor confirms each order and updated Sage expected due date
Follow-up at least weekly to ensure vendor deliveries are on-time and highlight any delays immediately
Highlight all potential risks immediately to avoid delays in supply
Monitor supplier performance and escalate lateness to direct manager
Manage pricing from vendors with commercial team and management
Support finance and warehouse in terms of supplier queries for incorrect deliveries or pricing issues
