This role leads a development team within Technology Services, combining hands-on development, technical guidance, and team management to drive cloud-based product delivery and support the strategic roadmap in a high-performance environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technical Leadership & Hands-on Development:

• Lead a team of 4–6 developers by providing technical guidance, mentorship, and ensuring delivery at the sprint level while collaborating closely with product and QA teams to maintain high-quality outputs.
• Application Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance web applications, primarily on Google Cloud Platform, utilising Firebase/Firestore and Angular.
• Contribute approximately 50–60% of your time to hands-on coding, uphold architectural standards, address technical debt, and drive the adoption of modern technologies within the ecosystem.

• Manage a team of 4–6 permanent employees and contractors, fostering a high-performance, quality-driven culture through mentorship, conflict resolution, and a strong focus on results and ownership of business outcomes.

• Drive the development and modernization of platforms—particularly cloud-based components—by contributing to sprints, planning, and stakeholder engagement to deliver high-quality solutions using diverse resources.

• A tertiary technology degree is strongly preferred, with at least 8 years in software development across disciplines and 2–3 years in a leadership or mentorship role.
• Experience in healthcare and modern SDLC methods (Agile, Scrum, Kanban) is advantageous.

• Strong proficiency in GCP (especially Firebase/Firestore), Angular (v12+), HTML5/CSS3, and containerization (e.g., Docker), with experience in RESTful API development, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software design principles.
• Architectural insight, systems thinking, and familiarity with agentic AI in the SDLC are preferred and will be required.

• Demonstrates strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a collaborative, adaptable, and growth-oriented mindset, taking full ownership of outcomes while effectively engaging diverse, cross-functional, and remote teams.

• The proposed salary for the role is R120k CTC per month, but the option remains with the client to offer any market related salary considering a candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience.
