SUMMARY:
A Specialist Recruitment Consultant seeks a Technical Director on behalf of a reputable client. This role is open to someone based in either Gauteng or the Western Cape.

POSITION INFO:
Seeking a highly experienced, professionally registered Mechanical Engineer (Pr Eng) with deep expertise across HVAC, fire services, and wet services design, specializing in all three. This is a senior technical leadership role suited to someone operating at the Technical Director level, with sound commercial and business development capabilities, who would look after international contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

Ability to take technical responsibility for multi-disciplinary building services projects
Strong design leadership across HVAC, fire, and wet services (all three are essential)
Experience mentoring, guiding, and reviewing design teams
Ability to produce, check, and sign off on high-level mechanical designs
Adept at working on EPC/EPCM project environments
Comfortable with client engagement and technical presentations
Competence in generalist building services work, with the ability to integrate with electrical teams when required, but mostly mechanical
Strong overall understanding of building regulations, standards, and compliance
Experience in commercial building services design, including complex systems integration

Job Experience & Skills Required (Ideal Candidate Profile):

Professional Registration: Pr Eng (Mechanical Engineering)
15–20 years of mechanical engineering experience within Building Services
Specialist-level capability in HVAC design — complex commercial and largeâscale environments
Advanced technical proficiency in:
- Fire engineering design
- Wet services design
