SUMMARY:
A leading organisation in the food manufacturing and supply chain sector is seeking a highly skilled Technical Manager to provide strategic and operational leadership across product quality, supplier performance, and compliance. This role requires a proactive leader who can set technical direction, ensure compliance with local and international standards, and drive innovation and continuous improvement across suppliers, manufacturing, and distribution operations.

POSITION INFO:
Qualifications & Skills:

BSc in Food Science, BTech in Food Technology, or National Diploma in Food Technology (essential)
Any higher qualification in Food Science, Engineering, or Project Management (advantageous)
5–7 years’ experience in a technical, QA, or food manufacturing environment, with at least 2–4 years in a supervisory/management role
Experience within the QSR or FMCG sector (advantageous)

Key Responsibilities:

Define and implement technical strategies, policies, and standards across suppliers and operations
Lead supplier approvals, audits, and compliance with local and international regulations
Drive innovation and product improvement initiatives aligned with business objectives
Provide leadership on risk management, product integrity, and regulatory compliance
Collaborate with suppliers, franchisees, and cross-functional teams to build capability and enhance performance
Oversee technical support for new product development, packaging, and process improvements
Manage customer complaint resolution, corrective actions, and product recall processes
Deliver technical insights and reports to executive leadership to guide decision-making

Technical Skills:

Strong technical knowledge of food manufacturing processes, quality systems, and compliance requirements
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to design and implement innovative solutions
Familiarity with supply chain compliance, incoterms, and export/import requirements
