Technical Sales Executive Chemical Raw Materials

SUMMARY:

A global leader in the distribution of speciality chemicals is seeking a dynamic Technical Sales Representative to identify target customers within the Plastic and Rubber industries and to promote and market various products within a defined territory with the aim to meet the sales growth parameters laid down by the budget and strategic plan of the company.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Must have a relevant tertiary qualification
• Minimum 5 years recent technical sales experience of industrial ingredients / raw materials will be required
• Previous experience within the plastics and rubber industries would be preferred
• Must have a valid drivers’ license
• Computer literacy and excellent communication and presentation skills are essential
• Must show technical competency to conduct product trials at customer sites

• Identifying new customers and promoting sales by presenting the range of products available.
• Offering prompt and effective technical support to customers according to a call plan in order to maintain existing business, resolve customer queries and develop new markets.
• Promoting new products to both existing and potential customers.
• Assisting with customer product trials as needed.
• Identifying market needs which would complement the product basket.
• Compiling and submitting a detailed monthly report to relevant management.
• Achieving budgeted sales and margins as defined annually.
• Obtaining, recording and updating detailed information on the usage of products by customers.
• Ensuring that updated prices are communicated to customers.
• Reporting on market activities and competitor activities to the Business Manager in accordance with the company’s Reporting Procedure.
• Following up on bad debts under the direction from the Accounts department.
• Carry out administration duties.
• Setting budgets and monthly forecast by product by customer.
• Attending joint customer visits with suppliers.
• Rendering technical assistance periodically if needed in the regions.
• Sharing market and technical feedback within the Pharmaceutical and Personal Care Products team.
