Technical Sales Representative - Water (JHB Based)

SUMMARY:
Our client, a leading supplier of valve solutions to the water sector, is seeking an experienced Technical Sales Representative to join their Sales team based in Johannesburg.
This role is ideal for a technically minded sales professional with a strong background in the water industry and a passion for building relationships, identifying opportunities, and delivering tailored solutions to clients.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with municipalities, utilities, contractors, consultants, and end users within the water and wastewater sector.
• Promote and sell technical valve products and solutions.
• Drive sales growth through new business development and management of existing accounts.
• Prepare quotations, tenders, and technical proposals.
• Conduct product presentations and technical training.
• Provide after-sales support and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments.
• Achieve monthly and annual sales targets.

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Diploma in Business Management or related qualification.
• Engineering qualification (Mechanical or Environmental) advantageous.
• 5–10 years' technical sales experience within the water industry or related technical environment.
• Strong understanding of water infrastructure, water treatment, water quality standards, and valve applications.
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets and growing customer accounts.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Experience working with CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel extensively.
