The Role To develop innovative, integrated and commercially viable solutions that address customer requirements, unlock market opportunities and drive business growth and revenue generation. What You’ll Do Turn Complex Requirements into Commercially Viable Solutions Lead interpretive analysis of customer requirements and convert them into integrated, cost-effective and scalable capability solutions. Design multi-year capability roadmaps aligned to client operational effectiveness and the organisation’s revenue objectives. Identify, evaluate and prioritise high-value solutions with long-term income potential. Ensure all solutions support South African Aerospace & Defence Industry competitiveness, export positioning and technology commercialisation. Develop standards, technology frameworks and integrated service models to support different customer segments. Expand Market Reach Promote the organisation’s value proposition to existing and potential clients, and key decision-makers in targeted markets. Support the business unit in implementing revenue-generation strategies aligned to organisational objectives by providing technical input into go-to-market strategies, pricing models, value propositions and competitive positioning. Provide technical advice in technical proposal development and solution implementation. Collaborate with Market Research to develop and validate multi-year capability forecasting models identifying emerging markets and revenue opportunities. Evaluate emerging aerospace & defence and \/ or safety & security technologies and recommend strategic investments to enhance competitive advantage. Represent the organisation as subject-matter expert at aerospace & defence exhibitions, industry forums and bilateral engagements to generate qualified leads. Align Client Needs, Technical Feasibility and Commercial Value Facilitate stakeholder engagements to gather requirements and present integrated solutions. Collaborate with technical teams to refine innovative, commercially viable offerings. Conduct structured risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies supporting business development execution. Prepare and deliver investment cases and strategic briefings to secure buy-in for initiatives. Develop Key Performance Indicators to monitor solution performance, lead generation effectiveness and market penetration. Build Confidence Through Validated Solutions Oversee design, development and validation of proof-of-concept programmes and integrated solution demonstrations. Ensure solutions are operationally effective, scalable and financially sustainable. Monitor performance of implemented solutions and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency, customer retention and revenue yield. Evaluate emerging tools, technologies and frameworks to optimise business development processes. What You Bring Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical or Computer Engineering, Defence Technology or a related technical discipline. Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in systems integration, technology development, integrated solution development, or complex defence\/security capability environments, including client-facing technical roles such as solution architecture, proposal development, and technical business development. Demonstrated experience translating complex customer requirements into commercially viable, revenue-generating solutions.
