Thunderhead Documentation Developer -(EE) - Cape Town

SUMMARY:
Seeking a Thunderhead Documentation Developer with an IT Degree/Diploma and at least 2-4 years IT development experience and experience in creation of Static Layouts for Print and Responsive Layouts for Web, for an EE position based in Cape Town.

POSITION INFO:

Job Role

• Responsible for Development, Testing, Maintaining and Supporting software that meets business requirements using the Thunderhead tool to generate Short Term Insurance related templates for documentation purposes.

 Responsibilities

• Adhere to defined software development lifecycles and best practice (including code standards, code reviews, source control, etc.).
• Authoring business templates as per the business requirements.
• Consolidating form templates, recognizing common graphical elements, information blocks, layouts, variable data requirements, functional similarity and multilingual requirements.
• Developing and documenting forms designs and form specifications, including form usage and derivation rules, data mapping, variable logic, templates, styles, layout etc.
• Create test data and unit tests to ensure developed software works according to business requirement, design and specification.
• Contribute and collaborate with team members across the SDLC from business analysis, design, development and testing in Agile / self-managed team environment.

 Requirements

 Qualifications

• Tertiary IT qualification and/or qualification through experience.

Experience

• Minimum of 2-4 years IT development experience across the systems development lifecycle.
• Well versed in creation of Static Layouts for Print and Responsive Layouts for Web.
• Business Content Studio
• Business Object Studio
• Admin modules of Thunderhead

Knowledge/ Skills

• Technical knowledge in creating Simple, Scriptable Batch Config/Template Selector and Output Configurations for post processing.
• Working knowledge of the Atlassian Suite of products (e.g. Bamboo, JIRA, Confluence) would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of Agile methods, e.g. Kanban, SCRUM.
• Knowledge of the Short Term Insurance industry is advantageous.
• Competent in problem solving and troubleshooting.
• Prioritizing objectives and planning.
• Working effectively as a team member sharing responsibility, providing support and maintaining communication.
• Identifying, resolving or escalating risks, issues, dependencies, etc.
• Investigation and analysis of information.
