POSITION INFO:

About the Position: Exciting and challenging position available for a candidate that is looking for exposure to a wide range of trading and custodial services offered by a JSE member firm to authorised FSPs. The position is primarily an operational function.

Calibre of Candidate Required:

3 or 4 Year Degree in Finance/Investments or Accounting.
Advanced Excel proficiency (Knowledge of VBA will be an advantage)
Knowledge of JSE systems will be a major advantage (eg BDA)
Data extraction and analysis skills (Basic SQL knowledge will be an advantage)
Clear and logical thinker with a willingness to learn and grow
Ability to grasp the technicalities of a wide range of stockbroking services
- Strong autonomous work ethic with an ability to complete key performance areas diligently and timeously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong attention to detail

Key Responsibilities:

Allocate and upload trades to clients’ accounts on portfolio systems – local and offshore.Perform sanity checks required to ensure validity and correctness of trades executed.Occasionally manage offshore orders for FSPs on a care basis.Local and offshore trade support. The candidate will be required to have a good understanding of offshore trade modelling and execution in the areas of pre-trade, trade and post-trade.Provide client support on geared products such as CFDs and carry accounts. The candidate will be required to have strong operational knowledge of these products.Accurately maintain and manage CGT databases for FSP clients. The candidate will be required to have a good understanding of CGT calculations and the treatment of corporate actions.Perform daily reconciliations of different products and systems in the areas of pre-trade, trade and post- trade.Communicate and manage daily margin call and credit reporting to clients.Perform month-end reconciliations and revenue sharing calculations. Involvement in ad hoc projects: new product launches, business user involvement in the specification of system enhancements and developments.Communicate with internal and external stakeholders in a professional manner.
