SUMMARY:
Transport Broker / Sales Representative Location: Cape Town Salary: R40 000 – R60 000 CTC (Depending on Experience) + Commission

POSITION INFO:

An established transport and logistics operation is currently seeking an experienced Transport Broker / Sales Representative to join their dynamic team.

This opportunity is ideally suited to a candidate with solid experience in the mining and/or agricultural sectors, who understands the complexities of bulk logistics, fleet coordination, and client service within these industries.

Role Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing and managing clients provided by the company, coordinating loads through both an in-house fleet and external transporters. While an existing client base would be advantageous, it is not a requirement.

This is a relationship-driven role requiring strong operational coordination, commercial insight, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing and servicing existing client accounts
• Coordinating transport solutions using internal fleet and third-party transporters
• Negotiating rates with transporters and clients
• Maximising load profitability and managing margins
• Planning and scheduling loads efficiently
• Ensuring on-time delivery and client satisfaction
• Monitoring profit margins and commission performance
• Maintaining accurate documentation and load tracking
• Building and maintaining long-term client relationships

Minimum Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Transport Broker, Logistics Coordinator, or Transport Sales Representative
• Experience within the mining and/or agricultural sectors (highly advantageous)
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Excellent relationship-building abilities
• Strong administrative and organisational skills
• High attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Valid driver’s licence

Qualifications:

While experience is key, the following qualifications would be advantageous:

• Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, or Business Management
• Relevant industry certifications in Transport or Freight Forwarding
• Knowledge of transport regulations, fleet operations, and load compliance
• Computer literacy (MS Office, transport management systems, load boards, etc.)

Remuneration:

• R40 000 – R60 000 CTC, depending on experience
• Commission structure: Approximately 20% of profit on sales (negotiable based on experience and value brought to the business)
