POSITION INFO:
We are looking for an experienced Transport Manager to manage, plan and coordinate transport operations, including delivery schedules, fleet performance, driver management and transport costs. The role is responsible for ensuring efficient, compliant and reliable transport operations while achieving key business and safety targets. Key Responsibilities Manage daily transport planning, delivery schedules and route optimisation. Monitor fleet, fuel consumption, driver and vehicle performance. Ensure vehicles and transport operations comply with company, quality and safety standards. Manage transport budgets, costs and financial reporting. Lead, coach and develop drivers, van assistants and transport teams. Manage staff schedules, performance, recruitment, training and disciplinary processes. Oversee fleet assets, equipment and preventative maintenance. Monitor transport KPIs, reporting, payroll and operational performance. Manage health, safety, incidents, accidents and operational risks. Drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency. Ensure delivery reliability, on-time dispatch and service excellence. Requirements 5-7 years'''''''' management experience in transport, warehousing, distribution, QSR or FMCG. Experience in people management, shift management, health & safety and contingency planning. Experience managing multi-temperature stock and complex, multi-site operations is advantageous. Grade 12 with Higher Grade Mathematics. Tertiary degree in Transport or a related field is mandatory; Hons advantageous. Advanced MS Excel and MS Office skills. Advanced Warehouse Management System (WMS) skills. Experience with Microsoft Great Plains is advantageous.
