SUMMARY:
Responsible for the overall performance of the warehouse including Staffing, health & Safety and cost management.

POSITION INFO:

Key Performance and Responsibilities

Warehouse Management & Administration:

Responsible for the overall performance of the warehouse.
Ensure stock accuracy at all times by:
Conducting stock counts according to the provided schedule.
Oversight to ensure correct warehouse processes are being followed.
Ensure accurate warehouse space planning. (Planogram)
Ensure Materials Handling Equipment is serviced, in good working order. Fuel is available where required.

Health & Safety:

Ensure the warehouse is compliant to all health & Safety standards.
Conduct weekly/monthly/ad hoc inspections timeously.
Maintain and ensure the Health & Safety file as well as the electronic Mango System are up to date at all times.

Warehouse Cost Control:

Ensure that all warehouse costs are constantly monitored and controlled.
Waste Bins, overtime, casual labour, maintenance & professional inspections etc.

Housekeeping:

Ensure the warehouse is clean and clear of debris at all times.
Waste disposal is arranged and skit swop outs executed in line with prearranged costs.
Racking is correctly labelled.
All equipment is in good working order.

Staff Management:

Ensure the warehouse is fully staffed at all times according to the approved organisation structure.
Continuous training of staff.
Staff performance management and reviews.

Requirements

Grade 12
National Diploma / and or tertiary qualification in material management, inventory, commodity procurement or related equivalent.
Minimum experience of 4 to 5 years in the fields of warehousing, stock control or supply chain.

Managerial and organizational skills and abilities.
Leadership and motivational skills
Exceptional communication skills, (verbal & written)
Good Knowledge of the safety and legal procedures for handling and receiving goods.
