Warehouse Supervisor

SUMMARY:
Warehouse Supervisor required for a Company based in the Cape Town, Wetton. Must have a Matric Certificate, Valid Drivers and Forklift License. 10 Years experience in Warehouse and 5 years as a Supervisor.

POSITION INFO:

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

• The primary responsibility of the Warehouse Supervisor is to manage the day to day activities of the Cape Town warehouse and supervise the warehouse team
• Specifically, this means managing all movements of stock in and out in the Warehouse including picking orders for customers for dispatch, arranging deliveries/collections, picking/receiving stock transfers, receiving goods from Production & RM Stores, performing daily stock counts, investigating variances & non-conformances and ensuring the system records accurately match the physical stock
• In addition, the Supervisor is responsible for maintaining accurate records in the accounting system for raw materials, production work in progress & finished goods including the analysis of & investigation into variances

The role includes (but is not limited to) the following additional responsibilities:

• Maintain Environmental, Health & Safety Standards (incl. Housekeeping)
• Monitor, maintain and ensure that Quality Management standards are adhered to at all times
• Liaise and communicate with Procurement Officer, Courier Companies, Johannesburg Warehouse, RM Stores and Production
• Record Non-Conformance and investigate stock variances
• Ensuring preventative maintenance activities are performed daily for all equipment
• Monitor the temperature/humidity of the warehouse daily
• Provide training to warehouse staff
• Manage stock control within Macola (including daily bin transfers)
• Perform daily stock counts
• Preparation of periodic reports
• Identifying and implementing improvements to the warehouse processes
• Manage the goods returned cage
• Delivery of goods and general driving duties (as a backup)
• Support the Production Supervisor in co-ordinating and monitoring production including executing the monthly Production Plan
• Oversees and supervises staff and all activities of the Cpt Consumables Warehouse
• Work closely with the Procurement Officer, Production Supervisors, Product Managers, RM Stores/Receiving, Jhb Warehouse, CE Warehouse, Customer Services and Quality Admin
• The company operates in the Medical Devices and Printing & Packaging industries and holds an ISO13485:2016 quality management system certification

REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION:

• Matric (Grade 12)

MINIMUM PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE:

• 10 Years in warehousing and 5 years as a Supervisor

TRAINING:

• In house

• Strong leadership, analytical and organizational skills; demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a team, assess priorities, and manage multiple activities with attention to detail, meeting tight deadlines under pressure. Proven experience supervising a team of people
• Excellent problem-solving capacity, with demonstrated ability for considerable analysis and sound judgment to find solutions in a complex environment with shifting and competing priorities
• Valid Forklift License
• Valid South African Driver’s License
• PC skills (incl. Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook)
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Organizational skills with the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
• Must take pride in appearance of warehouse, vehicles and machinery and has good attention to detail
